    hello all.

the other week i did a short stint on a local short film for a friend, what i found interesting was the sound problems we had. specifically he was using a digital camera and the microphone picked up everything!

now, as i shoot super8, with noisy cameras, i have been exploring ways of getting around noise interference.

i once used a "stage" mic, that singers use, and this came out very well, just had to have it really close, but it sucked for work indoors.

i also tried a telescopic mic, with reasonable success, but as sound bounces off walls, interior work was not great.

i am keen to hear what ideas people have about getting sound, the recorder does not concern me so much as the mic sensitivity.

lapels mics? sound proof boxing for the camera? shooting only in telephoto?

    help?!

One big plus when using Super-8 is that you can own multiple cameras for very little money. In this instance you would want to use the Nizo family of quiet cameras, the four digital model numbers are the quiet ones (example 6080, 6056, 3056 etc...).
